STRAWBERRY & CHAMOMILE Superblend
Sometimes, when I'm making tea in the evening, I'll go ahead and fix an extra cup or two, and then pop it in the fridge to save for the next morning. It's just a little thing, but adding that chilled tea to my smoothie really kicks it up a notch. Chamomile tea, with its gentle sweetness and floral hints, goes amazingly well with the bright taste of fresh strawberries. It's like they were made for each other.
2 cups frozen strawberries
½ cup dried white mulberries
1½ cups brewed chamomile tea (chilled)
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
sweetenerof choice/honey (optional)
2 tablespoons chia seeds
Notes: Blend the strawberries, mulberries, tea, and lemon juice together until smooth. Stop the blender, taste, and add desired sweetener if needed. Add the chia seeds, and give the blender a second quick whirl, just to mix the ingredients. (Incorporating the chia seeds at the end allows the smoothie to retain a smoother texture.)
